We first met in 2023 as colleagues at Bain, where we worked well together and shared a now-famous debate about concentric circles on a slide. We respected each other's thinking, then went our separate ways. Two years later, we reconnected on a dating app—because apparently the universe has a sense of humor and excellent timing.
What followed was the kind of summer you see in movies: a first date that never really ended, a bold prediction made within two weeks (spoiler: he was right), and a little dog named Edie who decided Thiago was staying. By November, we were engaged on a small island on the Seine at sunset—after sprinting through the streets of Paris because Plan A closed one minute too early.

Hey Stranger
Exactly two years later, we both happened to download the same dating app the same week. One "hey stranger" message later, and we were back in each other's lives. Dinner was booked within 24 hours.
The First Date
Dinner at Nick + Juniors in Chicago. He showed up a few minutes late (couldn't find his wallet). She showed up in a stunning black dress. The conversation never stopped, and neither did the laughter.
The Bold Prediction
Less than two weeks in, Thiago told Miriam: "I'm going to marry you, you just don't know it yet." She was silent. He wasn't wrong. We spent the most wonderful summer together, and even Edie the dog gave her stamp of approval.
The Great Parisian Ring Chase
A trip to Paris. Custom rings from a French atelier (stressful). A plan to propose at Luxembourg Gardens that failed at 5:01 PM—one minute after closing. A sprint through the streets of Paris to Plan B. A sunset on a small island on the Seine. She said yes.
